Hola!

My name is Marinés Aquije and I'm a Peruvian Artist and Graphic Designer, permanently living in Melbourne, Australia. I have a Licentiate Degree in Art majoring in Graphic Design from PUCP in Lima, Perú.

I have been working in the Art and Graphic Design industry for the past 9 years across agencies and design studios and have been involved in numerous Art Exhibitions including three Solo Exhibitions in 2016, 2017 and 2022.

I have advanced competencies in the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere), and often combine my artwork within clients branding to add extra unique hand drawn elements to a digital brand.

My passion is drawing and painting, and thoroughly enjoy working with colleagues and clients to bring great ideas to life.

My artistic work is based on life situations and portraits of living beings. My inspiration could come from everyday life or in some cases it could be a combination of reality and the way I see the world and how I want to represent it.

My style is based on the materials I use. I love the texture of graphite, pastels and the looseness of watercolor. I feel these materials help me portray my vision. I am very inspired by emotion, gesture and eye contact, so my main focus is on these particular details of my characters.
